Welcome to my newly launched website and thank you for checking out my latest blog post. This month, I begin my 8th year as a plaintiff attorney representing injured individuals and families in wrongful death cases after 21 years as an insurance defense attorney. It’s hard to believe that I have been handling personal injury lawsuits for almost 30 years! My staff and I begin the year with much energy and a sense of excitement about the cases we will resolve and what interesting new cases we will select to handle. 2018 was in incredible year for the firm where we experienced great success in recovering compensation for many injured clients. For example, we were very happy to help one client who had suffered because of a pharmacy’s negligent medication error. We found the best experts and proved that the pharmacy committed malpractice. One key to the successful outcome was the supporting testimony of the treating physicians who directly linked the incorrect medication to her very serious and life-threatening symptoms.
In 2018 we were also successful in the areas of medical malpractice, trucking accidents, and motorcycle accidents. I must note that we are very selective in the cases that we accept. We do cherish the opportunity to listen and evaluate every potential case that comes through our doors. While some lawyers base their decision to take a case on how easy and fast, they can make a dollar, my screening process is different. We look carefully at the issues of liability, causation, and damages to ensure that the case is viable. Does the law entitle you to compensation? I will never take a case that I don’t think I can win. If I take your case, I believe in your cause, and I think it is winnable.
So, 2019 looks to be an exciting year as we continue to handle cases in Richmond County, Columbia County, Burke County, McDuffie County and the surrounding areas. In fact, we are handling cases all over the state of Georgia in both state and federal courts. One of our many goals in 2019 is to expand the reach of our civil rights practice so we can help those whose constitutional rights have been violated. Such cases would include: deliberate indifference to serious medical needs; excessive force; and employment discrimination cases.
